Overview
Recognising the increasing need for privacy and security in blockchain transactions, this web3 company set out to develop a privacy Dapp specifically tailored for traders and investors on the Avalanche blockchain. The objective was to provide a solution that would allow users to transfer assets while ensuring their transactions remained confidential and untraceable.
The Challenge
I was tasked with building a brand for this company from scratch, as well as developing a necessary marketing site and dapp.
Discover
To understand the needs and pain points of traders and investors on the Avalanche blockchain, user research, with limited resources was conducted. This involved surveys and an analysis of blockchain communities using a platform called Discord to recruit necessary traders and investors.
Stakeholder interviews were conducted to gain better understanding of business goals and needs.
Define
To synthesise the data collected from the research phase I used affinity mapping to cluster themes and identify insights.
I used the Miro app to gather feedback from a closed card-sorting activity. My objective was to pinpoint prevalent labels utilised in the industry and aid in organising the related information.
Key findings from the research phase included
Traders and investors have expressed worry over their transactions being monitored, particularly when carrying out large amounts in a transaction. This has highlighted the necessity for improved privacy measures.
Security: Users emphasized the importance of secure transactions to protect their assets and maintain confidentiality.
User Experience: Traders and investors sought a user-friendly and intuitive platform that offered privacy features without sacrificing functionality or speed.
Design
The design approach focused on creating a user-centred and privacy-oriented experience for traders and investors within the DApp.
The following design principles were established:
Privacy-First Design: Implement robust privacy measures, such as zero-knowledge proofs or advanced cryptographic techniques, to ensure that transactions and identities remain anonymous and untraceable.
Intuitive User Interface: Design a user-friendly and intuitive interface that guides users through the process of executing private transactions, ensuring a seamless and frictionless experience.
Asset Management: Develop features that allow users to easily manage their assets, including portfolio tracking, transaction history, and balances while maintaining privacy and security.
Education and Support: Provide educational resources and support materials to help users understand the privacy features and ensure they can navigate the DApp confidently.
